Skills Immigration Stream

It caters to skilled workers, healthcare professionals, international graduates, post-graduates, as well as entry-level and semi-skilled workers. However, all candidates, except for international post-graduates, need to have a job offer or be currently employed.

The Skills Immigration program under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP Programs) offers different categories:

  1. Skilled Worker Category: This category is for individuals who have received a valid job offer in a skilled occupation. Applicants are expected to have several years of experience in their respective skilled occupations.

  2. Healthcare Professional Category: Individuals with experience and eligible job offers in healthcare professions, such as physicians, nurses, psychiatric nurses, or allied health professionals, can apply under this category. The job offer must be for one of the 11 qualifying health occupations.

  3. International Graduate Category: This category is open to individuals who have graduated from an eligible Canadian university or college within the past three years. To be eligible, applicants must obtain a job offer from a BC employer.

  4. International Post-Graduate Category: Graduates with master’s or doctoral degrees from eligible educational institutions in British Columbia in the natural, applied, or health sciences programs can apply under this category. No job offer is required for this sub-category.

  5. Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker Category: Workers in certain entry-level or semi-skilled positions in industries like tourism/hospitality, food processing, or long-haul trucking, as well as those working and residing in the Northeast Development Region of British Columbia, may be eligible for immigration through this program.

Express Entry British Columbia Stream

It is specifically for skilled workers, healthcare professionals, international graduates, and post-graduates.

Entrepreneur Immigration

  1. Personal Net Worth: Applicants must have a personal net worth of at least CAD $600,000.

  2. Business or Management Experience: Applicants must demonstrate relevant business or management experience.

  3. Language Requirements: Applicants must meet the language requirements in English or French, with a minimum CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) level 4 or higher.

  4. Establishing or purchasing a Business: Applicants must establish a new business in British Columbia or purchase and improve an existing business.

  5. Personal Investment: Applicants must make a personal investment of at least CAD $200,000 in the business.

  6. Job Creation: Applicants must create at least one full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Entrepreneur Immigration – Regional Pilot category has the following requirements:

  1. Personal Net Worth: Applicants must have a personal net worth of at least CAD $300,000.

  2. Business Experience: Applicants must have three years of experience as an active business owner-manager or four years of experience as a senior manager, or a combination of one year of experience as an owner-manager and two years of experience as a senior manager.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have an active Express Entry profile.
  • Must have a Job Seeker Validation Code or proof of enrollment in a PGWP-eligible program at a federally-designated post-secondary institution.
  • Must currently reside in New Brunswick.
  • Must have valid language test scores in English or French equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark Level 7 (CLB 7).

Skilled Workers Stream

Under this stream, New Brunswick accepts applications from individuals who have received a full-time, permanent job offer from a New Brunswick employer.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must demonstrate an intention to reside in New Brunswick.
  • Must have a full-time permanent job offer from an eligible New Brunswick employer, along with a letter of support from them.
  • Must have a minimum of a Canadian secondary (high school) diploma or a foreign high school diploma equivalent to a Canadian credential.
  • Must be between 19-55 years of age.
  • Must have valid language test scores in English or French equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark Level 4 (CLB 4).

Business Immigration Stream

New Brunswick accepts applications under this stream from individuals who plan to own and actively manage a business in the province. Applicants are expected to make a monetary investment in the business.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have an eligible connection to New Brunswick to submit an Expression of Interest.
  • Must have completed an academic degree from a college or university requiring at least three years of full-time study, or a diploma in a specific trade requiring at least two years of full-time study.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a minimum personal net worth of at least $600,000 CAD, with at least $300,000 CAD readily available and unencumbered.
  • Must be between 22-55 years of age.
  • Must have valid language test scores in English or French equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark Level 5 (CLB 5).

Strategic Initiative Stream

This stream is designed for Francophone workers who possess the skills, education, and work experience to contribute to New Brunswick’s economy and wish to live and work in the province permanently.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must intend to reside in New Brunswick.
  • Must have a qualifying connection to New Brunswick.
  • Must have a minimum of a Canadian secondary (high school) diploma or a foreign high school diploma equivalent to a Canadian credential.
  • Must have the required amount of settlement funds.
  • Must be between 19-55 years of age.
  • Must have valid language test scores in French equivalent to Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) 5.

Critical Worker Pilot

Introduced in November 2022, the Critical Worker Pilot allows designated employers in New Brunswick to recruit foreign talent to address their workforce needs.

Atlantic Immigration Program

New Brunswick is one of the four participating Atlantic provinces collaborating with the Government of Canada to recruit foreign workers to meet labor market shortages in Atlantic Canada. Applicants interested in the Atlantic Immigration Program may be residing abroad or have temporary status in Canada at the time of applying. All applicants must have a job offer from a designated employer that meets the program’s requirements.

To immigrate to Newfoundland and Labrador, you have the following five options:

  1. Newfoundland and Labrador Express Entry Skilled Worker: This option is for skilled workers who have a job offer and an Express Entry profile.
  2. Skilled Worker Category: This category is for skilled workers who have a job offer from an employer in Newfoundland and Labrador. It also includes workers who are currently in the province with a valid work permit.
  3. International Graduate Category: This category is for recent international graduates who are staying in Canada on a Post-Graduate Work Permit and have a job or job offer from an employer in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  4. International Entrepreneur Category: This category is for foreign nationals who wish to settle in Newfoundland and Labrador and start, co-manage, or purchase a business in the province. To be eligible, you must have been operating your business for at least one year on a Temporary Work Permit before applying for a provincial nomination.
  5. International Graduate Entrepreneur Category: This category is for international graduates of a Newfoundland and Labrador post-secondary institution who want to establish, co-own, or run a business in the province. This category provides a pathway to Canadian permanent residence.
  6. Priority Skills: This process is designed for applicants who have experience in jobs that are in demand in Newfoundland and Labrador, have a high level of education, are fluent in English and French, and who want to express their interest in either staying in the Province or moving there permanently.

  1. Human Capital Category: This category is designed for skilled workers, French-speaking skilled workers, tradespersons, and international graduates with a Masters or PhD degree from an Ontario university. No job offer is required to apply through this category.
    The Human Capital Category has two sub-streams:
  • Ontario Express Entry: This sub-stream is linked with the federal Express Entry system and includes programs such as Human Capital Priorities, Skilled Trades, and French-Speaking Skilled Worker. The Human Capital Priorities category considers candidates under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). The Skilled Trades category is for individuals with relevant work experience in an eligible trade occupation in Ontario. The French-Speaking Skilled Worker program requires strong language skills in both French and English.

  1. Masters or PhD Category: This category is specifically for international graduates who have completed a Masters or PhD degree from an eligible Ontario university. No job offer is required under this category.

  2. Employer Job Offer Category: This category is for candidates who have a valid job offer from an employer in Ontario. The employer must be willing to nominate the candidate for immigration.

If you receive a nomination through the Ontario Express Entry stream, you will be notified and have the option to accept or refuse the nomination. Accepting the nomination will award you an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, significantly increasing your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next all-program Express Entry draw.

If you are considering immigrating to Prince Edward Island (PEI), you have three options to choose from:

  1. PEI PNP Express Entry: This option is available for individuals who already have a valid Express Entry profile and are interested in residing and working in PEI. Candidates should possess skills that align with the current labor market needs in the province.

  2. Labour Impact Category: This category caters to skilled workers and international graduates who possess the necessary skills and experience required in PEI’s labor market. It comprises three streams:

    a. Skilled Worker Stream: Intended for individuals who have received a full-time, long-term job offer from a PEI employer that is relevant to their occupation and meets the wage requirements.

    b. Critical Worker Stream: Designed for individuals who have secured a full-time, long-term job offer from a PEI employer in occupations such as truck driver, customer service representative, laborer, or food and beverage server.

    c. International Graduate Stream: Open to international graduates who have completed a full-time, two-year program of study in PEI. They must have a job or job offer from a PEI employer that is related to their field of study.

  3. Business Impact Category: Geared towards individuals interested in investing in a business in PEI. It allows them to reside in PEI on a work permit while learning about the business they plan to invest in before receiving a provincial nomination. This category is suitable for those with the financial resources and business management experience required to establish or acquire a business in PEI.

In Saskatchewan, if you are interested in immigrating, there are four streams to consider:

  1. International Skilled Worker Category: This category is designed for skilled workers who have the desire to live and work in Saskatchewan. It provides an opportunity for individuals with the required skills and qualifications to apply for permanent residency.
  2. Saskatchewan Experience Category: The Saskatchewan Experience Category is intended for foreign workers who are already residing in Saskatchewan. This includes individuals holding a current work permit and international graduates who have completed their studies in the province. It offers a pathway to permanent residency for those who have already established themselves in Saskatchewan.
  3. Entrepreneur and Farm Category: The Entrepreneur and Farm Category is suitable for individuals who are interested in owning and actively operating a business or a farming operation in Saskatchewan. It provides an opportunity for eligible entrepreneurs and farmers to establish themselves in the province and contribute to its economy.
  4. International Graduate Entrepreneur Category: The International Graduate Entrepreneur Category targets international students who have completed their studies at an eligible post-secondary institution in Saskatchewan. This category is specifically designed for those who plan to start a business in the province, offering a pathway to permanent residency.

The Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP) offers two main programs for immigration:

  1. Northwest Territories Employer Driven Program: a. Express Entry System for Skilled Workers: This program is designed for skilled workers who are already in the federal Express Entry pool and meet the eligibility criteria for the Northwest Territories’ Skilled Worker stream. Candidates accepted into the Express Entry pool may apply through this program. b. Skilled Worker: This program is for skilled workers who have a valid job offer from an employer in the Northwest Territories. Applicants should have the required skills and qualifications that meet the employer’s needs. c. Entry Level/Semi-Skilled Occupations: This program is for individuals who have a job offer in an entry-level or semi-skilled occupation from an employer in the Northwest Territories.   2. Northwest Territories Business Immigration Program: a. Business Stream: This program is aimed at individuals who want to establish, partner with, or purchase a business in the Northwest Territories. Eligible candidates should have relevant business experience, sufficient investment funds, and a viable business plan to be considered for nomination.

These programs provide opportunities for skilled workers, entry-level/semi-skilled workers, and aspiring entrepreneurs to immigrate to the Northwest Territories. Each program has specific requirements and criteria that need to be met. Yukon has five options to immigrate:

  1. Yukon Express Entry (YEE): The YEE program is designed for foreign skilled workers who have a valid job offer for permanent, full-time work in Yukon. Employers in Yukon who are unable to find Canadian citizens or permanent residents for job openings can access the pool of candidates in the Express Entry system.
  2. Skilled Worker: This program is for foreign skilled workers who are sponsored by a Yukon employer for Canadian permanent residence. To be eligible, you must be working in a job classified under National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level 0, A, or B.
  3. Critical Impact Worker: The Critical Impact Worker program is intended for semi-skilled or unskilled workers who work in occupations that are in high demand in Yukon. You must have a valid job offer from a Yukon employer to be eligible for this program. However, it is not necessary to be physically present in Yukon when applying.
  4. Business Nominee: The Business Nominee program is suitable for individuals with proven business experience who wish to start a new business, partner with an existing business, or purchase and operate an existing business in Yukon. Eligible candidates should be prepared to make a significant investment in their Yukon-based business.
  5. Yukon Community Pilot: The Yukon Community Pilot is a special program that allows nominated individuals to obtain a specific type of work permit. This permit enables them to work for multiple employers in one of the participating communities in Yukon. The pilot project was scheduled to run from January 2020 to June 2023.
